Scholarships for outstanding young scientists

The Minister of Science and Higher Education of Poland awarded scholarships to outstanding young scientists conducting high-quality research and enjoying an impressive scientific output. The Minister evaluated 1129 applications and awarded 181 scholarships. Dr. Tomasz Hadaś from the Institute of Geodesy and Geoinformatics, WUELS is one of the laureates, who received a scholarship in the amount of 5,390 PLN per month for a period of three years. Climate-Kic announced the results of Pathfinder Ideator Programme which is designed to enable the collaboration of research and business stakeholders, who can bring their different perspectives together to ensure the innovation idea achieves real climate benefit and is a viable innovation proposition. Novel project at Institute of Geodesy and Geoinformatics aims at mobile data exploration for the thorough understanding of citizen behaviour patterns, which are reflected by mobility flows as well as demand for water which will lead to optimising the use of water in the city.

Karina Wilgan awarded with the scholarship of the Foundation for Polish Science

The Polish Science Foundation has announced a list of scholarship holders of START 2017 scholarships for young researchers starting research career who have outstanding academic achievements and outstanding research achievements. Among the laureates were Ms. Karina Wilgan, who prepares a Ph.D. thesis at the Institute of Geodesy and Geoinformatics entitled: "Integration of tropospher models obtained from GNSS and meteorological data with Numerical Weather Forecasting Models for Precise Positioning."

New ILRS AAC at IGIG

We are very pleased to inform that on the basis of the decision of the International Laser Ranging Service (ILRS) Governing Board and the ILRS Analysis Standing Committee, our Institute officially gained a status of the ILRS Associate Analysis Center.

We provide operational products based on the microwave and laser observations to new GNSS systems, such as GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou and QZSS. The results are available in the on-line service: http://govus.pl/.
