A Major Distinction for IGiG UPWr! Our Researchers on the Organising Committee of ISPRS Geospatial Week 2027 in Warsaw
In 2027, Warsaw will host
ISPRS Geospatial Week 2027 - one of the leading scientific events held under the auspices of the International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing. We are pleased to share that representatives of the Institute of Geodesy and Geoinformatics at the Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences have joined the Organising Committee of this event.
What is Geospatial Week?
Alongside the ISPRS Congress, held every four years, the Geospatial Week is one of the Society most important gatherings. The conference brings together around a dozen specialist workshops and symposia focused on recent developments in photogrammetry, remote sensing, laser scanning, 3D modelling, and geospatial analysis.
The event draws more than 2,000 researchers, industry representatives, and institutional delegates from across the globe, providing a platform for the exchange of knowledge, the presentation of new research, and the building of lasting international cooperation.
IGiG UPWr representation on the Organising Committee
The decision to entrust Poland with hosting ISPRS Geospatial Week 2027 is a significant distinction for the Polish photogrammetry and remote sensing community, and the presence of our staff on the committee confirms UPWr strong position on the international stage.
The committee includes members of the Polish Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing. The GSW Director is Dr hab. Krzysztof Bakuła, Professor at the Warsaw University of Technology. The Institute of Geodesy and Geoinformatics at UPWr is represented by:
- Dr. Małgorzata Jarząbek-Rychard - Deputy Director of GSW
Her appointment reflects the community trust and recognition of her research and organisational work to date.
- Dorota Włodarczyk
A PhD student at IGiG UPWr. On the committee, she will co-manage the event social media.
- Adam Pałęcki
A PhD student at IGiG UPWr. Alongside Dorota Włodarczyk, he will work to ensure that GSW 2027 maintains an active social media presence before and during the event.
Why this matters to us?
The involvement of IGiG UPWr representatives on the Organising Committee strengthens the Institute position within the international ISPRS community and creates new opportunities for collaboration with leading research centres and partners worldwide. It is also a chance to take an active part in preparing one of the most important scientific events in the field of geoinformation.
Preparations for GSW 2027 in Warsaw are already under way. We encourage you to follow the official website and social media channels, where updates on the programme, the call for abstracts, and the next stages of conference preparation will be posted.
